Twitter Can Be Tremendous

I am beyond excited we are talking about my favorite app in class now, Twitter. Twitter has been my favorite social media app for over a year now. I also feel as if Twitter is one of the best apps you can use to promote your business or even yourself. I know I used Twitter a ton during high school when I was playing basketball and I was able to reach out to a lot of coaches for college teams.      Originally Twitter only allowed you 140 characters on your tweets, that number is now at 280. Twitter was founded and started in 2006 by Jack Dorsey and has over 353 million people attracted to it. It is used every single day for anything you can think of including sports, politics and businesses. Twitter is used more heavily by males especially in the business world. When using Twitter you should try to incorporate videos and pictures into your tweets to catch more attention from people on your timeline or people that view your profile.      When making your account for a business or com

The First Semester of Junior Year

I have been sitting back recently and thinking, it is crazy that I am already in week 6 of my junior year of college. I know everyone says it, but I truly feels like I just graduated high school yesterday and now here we are. When you are younger, your parents and relatives will always tell you to enjoy being young because it fly's by and I never believed it and know I wish I would have listened.      Going into this semester and coming off summer, it was hard. I can't lie, it was hard coming back to school this year because this summer I had was truly the greatest summer I have ever had, and I never say that. The amount of time I spent with family and friends this summer was awesome. I had my brothers wedding, I turned 21 this summer, we had a big part in our local fair and then you add in all the weekend trips, it was a summer to remember. Regardless, I knew I needed a big year in the classroom for my junior year, so I decided to write "3.5 GPA" on a sticky no

Instagram is Important

Founded in 2010, Instagram has became a social media app and one of the most popular you can get. Building through an Instagram can be huge especially with the option to make an Instagram Business page. You can promote your business through Instagram with special advertisements and offerings that come with it. For example, the top 50 global brands post an average of 4.9 times per week.      An important part once making your posts on Instagram is what you make your captions. You are allowed 2,200 characters, but you should never make it that long. The shorter captions get more engagement and shares. A big part of captions is how you use hashtags. Hashtags are usually used at the end of captions and can be huge in engagement, especially if it is a popular hashtag. Also, there is banned hashtags so you have to pick and see which ones are unbanned and banned. Other than hashtags and trying to keep captions short, you can and should use emojis. With that, you need to use good punctua

Music Cures All

At a young age I fell in love with music and have never looked back. I remember being a young kid and always asking for an iPod so I could download a bunch of music. Always having my headphones in before my travel basketball and football games and just enjoying it. Back then, I just wanted to look cool and didn't truly understand music like I do now. Music helps me with everything including basketball, school, anxiety and just relaxing, it is great.      I listen to music anytime I can, especially when relaxing or working out. I like to experiment so I truly like a lot of different genres and songs, but if I had to pick one forever it will always be rap. Over the last year I started listening to an artist called Rod Wave and haven't stopped listening to him since. The main reason I always listen to him is because I feel like we relate on a lot of stuff and he puts his true feelings into his songs so it is real and relaxing. I have always liked country also, especially when

Building Through Facebook

During our class this week, we learned a lot of Facebook and different things you can do through it and how they are important. We learned some knowledge about some of the data dealing with Facebook and different ways people use it.     For example, we talked about the Urban, Suburban and Rural users and Urban was the highest at 73% and average income was between 30,000 and 75,000. It is crazy looking at some of the data about Facebook but when you think about the number of people that have Facebook and how long it is has been around, it seems realistic. I always feel like Facebook is very popular because a lot more older people have it, especially for family purposes.      One big item we talked about was building an audience through Facebook because of how popular it is. For example, 350 million pictures are uploaded to timelines every day on Facebook which is absurd when you think about it. Building an audience is huge for social media presence, the more you can get your things

The Browns Will Browns

The Cleveland Browns, it's simple. If you talk to an older person who has been a die-hard Browns fan there whole life I guarantee they will say "Browns will Browns" and then can you tell stories after stories about pain and heartbreak, and I am already headed on the track someday. A lot of people think I just started watching the Browns recently when they became good, but to be honest I have liked all Cleveland sports since the age I can remember. Trust me, I vividly remember the Browns going 1-15 and 0-16 in back-to-back seasons but I have never lost faith, and I am glad I haven't.     I am glad I never lost faith when they had twenty quarterbacks in ten years because of how they are playing now. Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham, Myles Garrett and many more all play for the Cleveland Browns, who in the world would have ever thought that? Not me. Last season, the Browns finished 12-6, including the playoffs where they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1

Chapter 3 - Principles of social media

Into the 3rd chapter of this class, we go, and I continue to love what we are learning about, which is why I picked this up as a minor last semester, and I am enjoying it! We are beginning to learn about Social Media Marketing, which involves my major and minor so I am killing two birds with one stone here.      We talked about the meaning of social media and just how powerful it can truly be in attracting people to yourself or even your company, it can retain so many things. For example, a social media marketing strategy outlines the strategies and tactics that a company can incorporate into their business and use for the future. We learned the 10 steps in the social media marketing strategy and they can be very affective for me. Step 3, is to establish your goals, objectives and metrics and not only is that important in social media marketing, but I feel as if it is important in life too. Step 6 was also important too, which is picking your platform and trust me, there is plent

Lake Days Never Get Old

Greetings, I can't believe we are into week 3 of school already, it will be winter break before we know it and 2022, and I always wish time would slow down. I told myself this weekend while I was home for labor day how much I wish time could just slow down sometimes, especially since I am a 21-year-old kid right now that wants to stay young forever.  One of the main reasons I want time to slow down and why I have enjoyed being at home this summer was because my brother purchased two jet skis at the beginning of August, and they are some of the most fun and enjoyable things I have ever been on. It also helps that I have my whole entire dad's side of the family that lives by Grand Lake St. Mary's, and they all have boats and jet skis also, so it makes for a great time. My plan this weekend was to head back to school Monday afternoon and get some things down but my family ended up calling us and wanted to have a lake day, and I am so glad I ended up going, because some thing

Chapter 2 - Principles of Social Media

We are now onto the second week of Principles of Social Media which means we are now into Chapter 2. Learning about personal branding was very important and needed because it is all about yourself and that is huge when trying to get your name out there. It is the biggest step that we can use to separate ourselves from our competition and other peers.  Learning about the nine big steps we can use in our personal branding is a huge learning point. For example, always starting off by identifying your target audience is huge, you need to know who you want to talk to and then how you want to go about talking to them. Determining your values, passion, vision, goals are all huge steps in personal branding. Not only are those big steps in personal branding, but I also think they are huge in life too. You should always try to know your values and passions and the goals you have. I know my passion is basketball and I know my goals that I want to accomplish in basketball so I believe it can go h

LeBron James

Growing up, I fell in love with the game of basketball, and people would always ask me how I did, and the answer is simple, LeBron James. Being a young kid that is from Northwestern Ohio, I watched LeBron play every night on Fox Sports Ohio when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and I mean every single game he played for the Cavaliers. I remember watching him wear #23 and put on for the state of Ohio and he is 100 percent of the reason I now where #23 for Ohio Northern and why I even play basketball.       LeBron came into the NBA in 2003, and even though I was only four years old, I still remember everything about it. He came from a very prestige high school in Ohio called Akron St. Vincent St Mary's where the arena is now named after him and his number is retired. At St. Vincent, he won 3 state titles and won Mr. Basketball 3 times, both an Ohio record. Lebron actually played a team in my conference in high school, Ottawa Glandorf and beat them both times, which I though
