Instagram is Important

Founded in 2010, Instagram has became a social media app and one of the most popular you can get. Building through an Instagram can be huge especially with the option to make an Instagram Business page. You can promote your business through Instagram with special advertisements and offerings that come with it. For example, the top 50 global brands post an average of 4.9 times per week.

An important part once making your posts on Instagram is what you make your captions. You are allowed 2,200 characters, but you should never make it that long. The shorter captions get more engagement and shares. A big part of captions is how you use hashtags. Hashtags are usually used at the end of captions and can be huge in engagement, especially if it is a popular hashtag. Also, there is banned hashtags so you have to pick and see which ones are unbanned and banned. Other than hashtags and trying to keep captions short, you can and should use emojis. With that, you need to use good punctuation and pay a lot of attention to it, it happens to people a lot and it shouldn't if you double-check. Always put emphasis on your caption for every post, keep it short and interesting and spice it up with emojis and hashtags.

Learning about these social media platforms and how to use them is a big advantage once we get into the real world. Especially for Instagram when the most users are between the ages of 13 and 17, it is important to target them in certain posts. Always try and use call-to-action links on certain posts, especially for more engagement. Learning about Facebook and now Instagram, they are both different but both important for use. Facebook has an older target market versus Instagram who has a much younger target audience. Instagram is important and needs to be used.

  1. When I get older I want to work with social media and its different platforms. This could lead me to working with Instagram. I am a user on Instagram, but there is a lot I don't know about to platform. I didn't know you are allowed 2,200 characters per post and I didn't know most users would be ages 13-17. These are two metrics that I could use to help me out with my future based on what I am posting and what audience I am trying to reach. Interesting stuff!

Can YouTube be More than Entertainment?

Discussing and learning about YouTube has been fun and also informative. It has been fun learning about YouTube because I am an addict and always watch videos on it. I love YouTube because you can watch and find anything you need. Whether it is life advice, music videos or content creators. For example, I watch Danny Duncan and The Nelk Boys all the time and it is great. But, can YouTube be used for more than entertainment?     For example, YouTube is a fantastic way to promote yourself and your business, especially with amount of active users on YouTube. Everyone starts somewhere, everyone starts with zero subscribers, it is all about what you do with that. My freshman year of basketball at Ohio Northern University, I played against a guy named D'Vontay Friga from The University of Mount Union and he is YouTube famous now with over 600,000 subscribers and makes a living of promoting himself and his brand. His brand slogan is "Stay Motivated, Stay Positive" and h...

The Guardiac Kids

The Guardiac kids, also known as the Cleveland Guardians, were one of the most fun teams to watch in the league this year. A team made up of the lowest payroll, lowest experience and the youngest team in the league made the second round of the playoffs and took the "best" team in baseball to a final game in the American League Division Series, before losing last night. I watched over 50 games this year, and every game had so much life and excitement to it.      This past Sunday night, I attended game 4 against the New York Yankees in Cleveland and it was an experience of a lifetime. I got free tickets and a parking pass and had fantastic seats for a chance to watch history. We arrived early and explored beautiful downtown Cleveland. Cleveland is a place I have always loved and enjoyed being there and exploring. Once in the stadium, it was so great to be back. The smell of baseball was in the air, and it was contagious. With over 38,000 people in attenda...
