The Browns Will Browns

    The Cleveland Browns, it's simple. If you talk to an older person who has been a die-hard Browns fan there whole life I guarantee they will say "Browns will Browns" and then can you tell stories after stories about pain and heartbreak, and I am already headed on the track someday. A lot of people think I just started watching the Browns recently when they became good, but to be honest I have liked all Cleveland sports since the age I can remember. Trust me, I vividly remember the Browns going 1-15 and 0-16 in back-to-back seasons but I have never lost faith, and I am glad I haven't.

    I am glad I never lost faith when they had twenty quarterbacks in ten years because of how they are playing now. Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham, Myles Garrett and many more all play for the Cleveland Browns, who in the world would have ever thought that? Not me. Last season, the Browns finished 12-6, including the playoffs where they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1st round and everyone loves to see that! Seeing the Browns make the playoffs last year and win a game gave me so much hope leading into this season and the future. Last Sunday the Browns opened up there season with a rematch versus the Kansas City Chiefs and I had been looking forward to this game since last season. I was counting down the days on my phone everyday and I couldn't stand how long the offseason took, it killed me. Like usual though, the Browns played great until the 4th quarter and the Browns did typical Browns things and ended up losing the game 33-29, enough to make a grown man cry. 

    0-1 is not a big deal especially when there is 16 games left, but when you are a life time Browns fan, you want every game to be win, especially with the talent they have now. This upcoming Sunday we play the Houston Texans and it should be a win and I am sure hoping it is a win too. Cleveland is a special city that just wants to see winning happen, so I sure hope it happens this year!

    I am well aware of what browns fans these days have gone through. I am a lifetime browns fan and I also remember those seasons where we didn't win much or at all. Hopefully those days are behind us and we can start to focus on bigger and better things. I have high expectations for this browns team this year and I am very excited to see what all happens this season. Go Browns!

    The Guardiac kids, also known as the Cleveland Guardians, were one of the most fun teams to watch in the league this year. A team made up of the lowest payroll, lowest experience and the youngest team in the league made the second round of the playoffs and took the "best" team in baseball to a final game in the American League Division Series, before losing last night. I watched over 50 games this year, and every game had so much life and excitement to it.      This past Sunday night, I attended game 4 against the New York Yankees in Cleveland and it was an experience of a lifetime. First Game, First Win

    Last night, we opened up with the first game of our season and the first game of my senior season. We traveled to Oberlin College which is close to the Cleveland area. Since it is closer to Cleveland, it was a long bus ride. The whole bus ride, it really hit me that my senior season is beginning and potentially the last season of my competitive basketball career. Besides that, I knew that this was a huge game, especially being on the road for our first game, it is never easy. I won't lie, I felt very confident about our chances going into the game.      We arrived at Oberlin, and the butterflies began to hit me for the first time in a long time. A new coach, senior season, high expectations, and the first game all added up to some nervousness. This game was a huge game for us if we want to change the culture of Ohio Northern Basketball. The ball tipped up and the game began. We definitely came out as I expected; a little sloppy but also nervous and hesitant....

Back on Campus

    After a much needed time off from athletics and academics, it is great to be back on campus. I was very thrilled to go home for a couple of long days. I wasn't only happy to go home because it was first time home in a month, but also because it will be last time home till Thanksgiving. We start our first week of practice this Friday and once that starts it is almost impossible to go home, so I made sure to enjoy my break.             I have always cherished my time I get when I am back home because you never know what can happen and when it could be your last time. That sounds very straight-forward but is the reality of life. As I stated, we start our basketball season this week and I am beyond focused and ready to start my third year on the basketball court.
