Can YouTube be More than Entertainment?

    Discussing and learning about YouTube has been fun and also informative. It has been fun learning about YouTube because I am an addict and always watch videos on it. I love YouTube because you can watch and find anything you need. Whether it is life advice, music videos or content creators. For example, I watch Danny Duncan and The Nelk Boys all the time and it is great. But, can YouTube be used for more than entertainment?

    For example, YouTube is a fantastic way to promote yourself and your business, especially with amount of active users on YouTube. Everyone starts somewhere, everyone starts with zero subscribers, it is all about what you do with that. My freshman year of basketball at Ohio Northern University, I played against a guy named D'Vontay Friga from The University of Mount Union and he is YouTube famous now with over 600,000 subscribers and makes a living of promoting himself and his brand. His brand slogan is "Stay Motivated, Stay Positive" and has passed that around the world by using YouTube to his advantage and promoting it. That is just one example and there is so many more out there that can show why YouTube can be a great advantage against your competition. 

    The answer to the question, is yes. Yes, YouTube can be great to promote yourself and your business. If used right, you can do some great things and can also make a profit off of it. The most important part to remember is that everyone started somewhere. Be patient and be smart, and it will pay off.

    Adam, I liked how you mentioned that you could use YouTube to make a profit and build your brand. I have heard and watched many of the Mount Unions basketball player's videos and I think it is cool how you can use this app to spread a message around the world.

    Hi Adam! I really like that you recognized the time commitment for YouTube - it takes time and determination to get to the point that so many of our favorite YouTubers have reached. However, it will definitely pay off if you keep working at it.

Music Cures All

     At a young age I fell in love with music and have never looked back. I remember being a young kid and always asking for an iPod so I could download a bunch of music. Always having my headphones in before my travel basketball and football games and just enjoying it. Back then, I just wanted to look cool and didn't truly understand music like I do now. Chapter 1-7

    After finishing our midterm in this class, I feel as if it can be a good time to talk about the first seven chapters and the things I have learned about social media. I am actually taking this class because I decided to pick up social media as a minor and I am beyond glad I did it because I  thoroughly enjoy learning about different aspects in social media.
