Senior Presentations

Wrapping up the first semester of my senior year, it has been a fantastic time, but also an absolute grind. It has been a lot of presentations and speaking, and a lot fewer exams, which has its pros and cons. I enjoy speaking and doing presentations, and I despise exams, so it has played in my favor.      For example, we just wrapped up our capstone project with Marathon Petroleum Corporation. Capstone is the biggest business school project and is a huge factor in graduating. It was a huge sigh of relief once we finished today, and it felt like all the hard work paid off. On top of this, I have also had four other presentations this week and felt very confident about all of them. The finish line is close, and it is scary to think about. Once I graduate, I am leaving a great place and some fantastic people and adventuring into the workforce.     If you are struggling with finals week coming up, just remember that a long break is on the horizon and the finish line is close. Life

As I sit back today and reflect, I keep thinking about how blessed I am and how great my life is. My life is great because of the people I have in my circle and the people that support me. When I think about some of these things, it really does make me complain a little less and be cheerful a little more. It is easy to smile and be happy when life is great, but how do we respond when life isn't always great and exciting? That truly determines how strong we are as people.      First, my family is great and they are my driving force in everything I do on a daily basis. When I look up in the stands at basketball games and see all of them, it reminds me of why I work hard and also how blessed I am. My family is massive, which makes it even better when I see so many of them. Secondly, my friends are incredible. I have met some of my best friends through college and have also maintained childhood friendships from back home. When things aren't always positive, I know I can come ho

Thanksgiving Break

This is our last week of classes here at Ohio Northern before we go on Thanksgiving break for a full week. Playing basketball my whole life, I have never been able to enjoy a full Thanksgiving or Christmas break but I need this break badly this year. I don't say that in a bad way, but I have only been able to go home for a total of four days this entire school year. I will only be home for three days on Thanksgiving, but I am going to cherish every second of it.      I have enjoyed my senior year a ton so far, but there have been stressful times throughout, just like every year. Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite times of the year, especially since I started college. I love coming home to all my family and friends and having everyone together in one room. Being at college, I rarely get to see my family and friends. I am not sure what we will do this year, but I am always excited to see what it brings. Of course, food is one of my favorite parts also. I can always count o

First Game, First Win

Last night, we opened up with the first game of our season and the first game of my senior season. We traveled to Oberlin College which is close to the Cleveland area. Since it is closer to Cleveland, it was a long bus ride. The whole bus ride, it really hit me that my senior season is beginning and potentially the last season of my competitive basketball career. Besides that, I knew that this was a huge game, especially being on the road for our first game, it is never easy. I won't lie, I felt very confident about our chances going into the game.      We arrived at Oberlin, and the butterflies began to hit me for the first time in a long time. A new coach, senior season, high expectations, and the first game all added up to some nervousness. This game was a huge game for us if we want to change the culture of Ohio Northern Basketball. The ball tipped up and the game began. We definitely came out as I expected; a little sloppy but also nervous and hesitant. This is expected, e

NBA Season Is Back

My favorite time of the year is back, the NBA season. The NBA season officially began two weeks ago and I have been watching it non-stop. Being a college basketball player, I love being able to watch the game and learn from the best to do it. I am a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan, but I am also a die-hard LeBron James fan, so I also root for the Los Angeles Lakers. As of today, the Cavaliers have the best record in the league and the Lakers have the worst record in the league.      A lot of people don't enjoy watching the NBA because of how long the season is, or the lack of effort, but I thoroughly enjoy it, especially during the playoffs. To me, you are watching the best players in the world, go head-to-head at a high level every game. The difference between the college level and the NBA is insane and I have a ton of respect for everyone that can play at that level. I also look forward to the nationally broadcasted games that usually take place almost every day of the week on E

The Season Begins

It is here, my senior year of college basketball. Typing that first sentence is already emotional and it is just getting started. Every day when I wake up, I tell myself, "just enjoy the ride," and it keeps me going. Not many people get the chance to play a game they love for an extra four years with great people, so I cherish it every morning. I remember playing my first ever basketball over 12 years ago, and now I am in my last go around, time flies.      We officially began practice on October 15th, and have already had a scrimmage. It is crazy to think how fast my senior year of college basketball came along, but I wouldn't trade friends and memories for anything in the world. This year, we got a new coaching staff and it has been amazing so far, and we have made great progress. Everyone loves each other, has bought in and is doing their role, which is amazing to be a part of. I am beyond excited to see how this season goes, and no matter what happens, I will for

The Guardiac Kids

The Guardiac kids, also known as the Cleveland Guardians, were one of the most fun teams to watch in the league this year. A team made up of the lowest payroll, lowest experience and the youngest team in the league made the second round of the playoffs and took the "best" team in baseball to a final game in the American League Division Series, before losing last night. I watched over 50 games this year, and every game had so much life and excitement to it.      This past Sunday night, I attended game 4 against the New York Yankees in Cleveland and it was an experience of a lifetime. I got free tickets and a parking pass and had fantastic seats for a chance to watch history. We arrived early and explored beautiful downtown Cleveland. Cleveland is a place I have always loved and enjoyed being there and exploring. Once in the stadium, it was so great to be back. The smell of baseball was in the air, and it was contagious. With over 38,000 people in attendance, it was the day
